AND THE WORLD RECORD GOES TO…
The world record for Best-Intentioned Stuffy goes to Monk Monk, my brother’s oldest stuffy.
Monk Monk is a spider monkey with a big heart who always means well. Using his magical
healing powers, Monk Monk takes care of his fellow stuffies when they’re sick or injured.
However, things don’t always turn out like Monk Monk plans. In fact, each act of healing weaves
a weird little quirk into those he mends. When he cured baby Pete the Penguin’s pneumonia, he left Pete with a strong desire to push himself along on his belly when he’s at the beach.
When he cured the whooping cough of a whooping crane, he transformed the crane’s
whooping sound into the sound of a chicken! Monk Monk means well, but his healing magic
leaves a trail of enchanting mishaps. May his good-hearted mistakes continue to add a touch
of magic to Declan’s Stuffed Animal Kingdom
About The Authors
Declan Brennan and Mike Brennan
Declan and Mike Brennan are a son-and-father collaborative writing duo. They spent their childhoods being children and fondly recalled all the stuffed animal antics that dominated the imaginative play of that era. Declan’s first edition of this book, a hand-drawn, laminated, and spiral-bound birthday present for his younger brother, had a circulation of one book. It enjoyed an enthusiastic readership of three family members, one of whom (Mike), encouraged and helped him bring it to a wider audience. Originally from Minneapolis, Minnesota, they currently live in Nashville, Tennessee.
